Chinese New Year 2018

We had such a great time celebrating the Chinese New Year!
Harper wore one of her beautiful silk dresses from China.
We went to a party to celebrate.
Harper loved the panda.
There were crafts
and lots of friends.
There was a photo booth with fun props.
We had a good time playing Chinese games.
It is the Year of the Dog so we had cupcakes decorated with dogs
and the Kansas City Disc Dogs did a stunt show.
After the show, I was surprised when Harper went to pet the dogs.
We ate a LOT of good food!
Yes, Harper is eating the cupcake first.
During the children's raffle, Harper won some Shopkins!
She was soooooooooo excited when they called her name.
There was a presentation of Hong Bao to all of the children.
Hong Bao is a tradition in China where gifts of money
are presented in red envelopes.
There were dance performances and a traditional lion dance.

We couldn't shoot off fireworks, so all of the kids jumped on bubble wrap.
It's amazing how much it sounded like real fireworks!
The best part was making new friends!
Gong Xi Fa Cai!
