Friends and Fun!

Saturday evening was full of fun!
First, we headed to Overland Park
for Ava’s birthday party.

Ava was on KC Cheer with Harper last year.  It was a skating party and Harper started off slow

but after a few laps was zipping around in circles!
Next, we met a group of friends for Glo-Wild
at the Kansas City Zoo.

It was sunny when we started out

and the weather was perfect!

We saw the new aquarium, but it was closed.
It looked amazing, so we will have to go back soon!

The Glo-Wild theme was
conservation around the world.

We loved North America especially
Day of the Dead from Mexico

and the Statue of Liberty from the United States.

We saw the Eiffel Tower

and some zebras

and birds too!
Of course, our favorite part was Asia!

We are so thankful for fun times with friends!  What a perfect Saturday evening!

Sunday Funday!

Today we went to BRKTHROUGH.
It’s a new game spot in Overland Park
that has 40 individual challenges that are
mental, physical, or skills based
and sometimes all three!

Our first game was called Slippery Slope and we quickly realized we had to
push a button at the top of the slope.

Christy was able to push Ashley up the slope.  Ashley’s long arms came in handy as she stretched and reached the button.

We laughed a lot!

There were so many games!  This one
was like Space Invaders.

In this game, we had to find the code to break out
of our prison cell.

We thought we’d be good at a music game,
but we failed this one miserably!

We had lunch at Rock & Brews (owned by Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons from KISS). The music was wonderfully loud and the food was great too!

We squeezed in some pool time before
Christy had to fly home.

Then Harper had dance class and now we are watching the Chiefs game!
What a perfect weekend!

Mid-Autumn Moon Festival

Saturday night, we attended a Mid-Autumn
Moon Festival at Indian Creek Recreation Center.
There was lots of yummy food!

Harper loved painting her lantern
and covering it with glitter!

There were lawn games

and some tricky riddles hanging from the lanterns.

There were Chinese calligraphy lessons too!

The KU Lion Dance team provided entertainment.

They were so much fun to watch!

When it got dark, the Lion led all the kids with their lanterns on a parade through the park.

All the decorated lanterns were so pretty.

The kids loved the Lion Dance team.

It was fun to watch the girls playing together.

We were so glad Christy was in town and that Ashley could come too.  They hung all the lanterns and riddles and did lots of other setup and cleanup too!

It was a great night for fun with friends!
