Kaua’i Day 2

On Wednesday morning,
we went to check out Poipu beach.

We hoped to see the turtles that often come to the beach, but none were there.  Harper was very interested by this pay phone though. Ashley made her use hand sanitizer after she touched it.

We spent another day relaxing in the pools.

There were lots of hot tubs to enjoy too!

The beach at our resort had pretty big waves, so we didn’t go in the ocean.
We watched the surfers take on the waves.

We swam in the sand bottom protected lagoon instead.

We played cornhole

and Ashley was the winner!

We mostly laughed at how bad we were.

After that, we cooled off in the pool

and hit the waterslide again!

Ashley figured out that it was slower if you sat up,

but Harper loved going fast!

We kept finding new areas to explore

The hotel staff brought out snacks each day at 2:30. These popsicles were a great way to cool off.

Harper loved “getting a piggyback ride” from Ashley and I in the lazy river.

We swam

and floated

and had a wonderful lazy day!

Later, we tried out the giant Jenga game.

Ashley and I would strategically and slowly remove a piece, but Harper would just grab one and yank it out.

Our tower stayed up much longer than we expected

but right when it was Ashley’s turn a big wind came up and blew it over!

That night, we put on our leis and took a picture in my favorite balcony near our room.

There was a great photo spot in the lobby too.

We found some yummy food trucks for dinner

and laughed because there were chickens running around everywhere on this island.

We found a place called Mangoes for dessert.

On the way back to the hotel, we stopped at Poipu Beach again.  I’m so glad we did,
because this time the turtles we there

and the sunset was gorgeous!

Another day in paradise!

Kaua’i Day 1

On Tuesday, we flew from
Honolulu to the island of Kauai.
It was about a 15 minute flight.

The girls got the luggage,
while I went to pick up the rental car.

We found a great Mexican place for lunch, and Harper loved every bite of her breakfast burrito.

On the way to the hotel, we passed
through this tunnel of trees.

We arrived at the Grand Hyatt Kaua’i and all we could think was WOW!

It had 52 acres of prime oceanfront property
and was simply gorgeous!

We got into our swimsuits and
headed to one of the many pools. As soon as the girls got in the water, it started raining.

We quickly learned that if you don’t like the weather on Kaua’i, just wait 5 minutes because it will change.

This picture is literally from 5 minutes later
and it’s totally sunny!

Next, we tried out the waterslide!  Harper went first.

Ashley quickly learned how fast the slide went!

It’s hard to describe how massive the pools were.  There were so many pools that all seemed
to be connected by a lazy river

and there were waterfalls everywhere!

We met Rico, the hotel’s resident green wing macaw.

That night, we headed to Aloha Ramen.

Harper loved her shrimp ramen so much, that we went back later in the week so she could eat it again!

More Oahu Beauty

Oahu was so beautiful!

From the morning

until night.

We loved watching the sunset.

This was on our hike to Secret Beach.

We could see much of the lazy river
from the 15th floor

and we had a great view from our balcony too!

Thanks for all the memories Oahu!

Goodbye Honolulu!

Disney Aulani Pools and Beach

We spent most of our time enjoying the pools and beach. This saltwater infinity pool
seemed to drop off right into the ocean.

There was a lazy river that looped through the entire resort.

It was so relaxing!

There was an enclosed body slide through a dark mountain

and we got soaked at the end.

We loved the tube slide

and rode it many times.

One time our tube flipped at the end

and we both got drenched.

There were lots of places to swim and relax.

Harper loved playing on the beach.

There was a protected lagoon so we could
swim without huge waves.

The water was very warm!

It was so beautiful!

We had a great view of our resort from the ocean.

We had so much fun at Disney Aulani!
