Girls Night Out

Tonight I took Harper and her friend, Sicilia, to Fun Run to play.
The girls were so excited to see each other!
They jumped
and played house
and slid
and played arcade games.
I let the girls choose anywhere they wanted for dinner.....
and they chose McDonald's!
Such a fun girls night out!

Other Summer Fun

It was a busy summer and we had lots of fun!
Harper played tee ball.
 She went fishing with Daddy
and even caught a fish!
Vacation Bible School was a blast!
We ate dinner outside as often as possible
and got donuts at Slivinski's pretty frequently too!
Harper partied with her friends at Lauren's house
and at Main Event with Conner.
There was lots of pool time
and time to play in the sprinkler too!
We had so much fun this summer!

Deanna Rose Farm

The weather was nice on Saturday, so Harper
and I went to Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead.
 Harper rocked
and slid
and drove a tractor.
She dug in the sand
and posed for pictures.
She raced on a tricycle
and worked hard to pump some water.
We rested on a swing
and cooled off with some ice cream.
Harper was a little afraid of the goats
but loved riding on a horse named Cowboy.
We had so much fun on the farm!

Five Years Together!

On August 13, we celebrated the 5 year anniversary of Harper's adoption.
We "adopted" a bear at Build a Bear

and shopped around at Zona Rosa.
We ate at the Chinese Buffet
(one of us ate a lot more than the other)
and fed the fish before we left.
Every year on August 13, I get Harper a new charm for her bracelet.
We had a great time celebrating our family!

Other Omaha Memories

While we were at the Omaha zoo, Harper decided she wanted to go down
the super fast slide out of the treehouse.  I told her I thought
perhaps she was too little, but when she said "I a first grader!!!"
I knew I had to let her go.  It started out good and she made it
up the steep climb to the top.
On the way down, she started out fine.
As she picked up speed, she got scared and rolled onto her side.
Fortunately, she walked away with only a bad scrape.
Some chocolate banana ice cream at Ted & Wally's helped it feel better.
After a long day at the zoo, we decided
to cool off at the hotel waterpark.
The hotel had a huge buffet breakfast.  The waitress was
amazed at how much this little child could eat!
Harper is in tears in the picture below because we were talking about
how it was time to go home and she said she
wanted to "stay in Omaha forever!"
After a lot of snuggles and some of her favorite foods --
macaroni & cheese with a side of fresh fruit and french fries
she decided it would be OK to go home, as long
as "we come back again and bring Ashley!"
We can't wait to go back to Omaha again!
