Surgery

After a winter of many illnesses, it was time to remove Harper's
tonsils and adenoids.  She also had tubes placed in her ears.
She was happy playing while Momma filled out paperwork.
Harper was her normal energetic self even though it was only 7:15 am.
She needed Daddy to play too.
She changed into some special jammies
and made herself comfortable.
The surgery went well.  Dr. Beuerlein said her tonsils and adenoids were so large
that her airway was 95% blocked.  He drained a lot of fluid off her ears, and it
already seems like her hearing has improved.
She has been pretty lethargic today.
Fortunately, her appetite is good!  She ate macaroni and cheese for lunch,
and a baked potato and mini muffins for dinner.  I gave her some marshmallows
after she took her yucky antibiotic, and she ate three helpings!

The Springs Aquatic Center

Harper and I decided to check out The Springs Aquatic Center.  We'd heard good things about it, and it sounded like the perfect activity for a hot Sunday afternoon.

There were so many things to see and do!
Harper loved playing at the Splashground
and wading in a pool that was just the right depth!
She tried out all of the slides, but I didn't get many pictures
because I was trying to keep my camera dry.
The water cannon was a definite favorite!
Harper absolutely loves the water!
It didn't take her long to figure out what happens when you pull on the rope.
The Springs Aquatic Center was super fun!  We can't wait to go back again!

A new swing set!

Daddy has been working hard building a dream castle swing set for Harper.
Ashley helped some too!
Harper LOVES helping especially if she gets to use the tools
or if she gets to drink Gatorade on her break.
Daddy has been working hard for several weeks and it is finally done.
It turned out just like I hoped!
There is a plank and a rock wall to climb
but the flower boxes are my favorite part!
Harper likes to water the flowers
but her favorite part is the slide!
There is a pirate ship wheel
and a watch tower!
Harper is building strong muscles while playing on her new swing set!
Every once in a while she stops to rest on the hammock swing.
Harper has never allowed us to take her near a swing at a park,
so we were surprised to see how much she enjoys swinging!
She likes to swing with Momma
or all by herself!
She even tries to use the trapeze bar.
What a great job Daddy did building the swing set!
Thank you Daddy!  I love it!

Summer Tumbling Class

The bad news is that Harper was the only child signed up
for the Mommy and Me summer tumbling class so they canceled it.
The good news is that they moved her to a "real" class and she did pretty well!
She seemed a bit scared and definitely quieter than normal.
The teacher was new and Momma was watching
through a window.  Surprisingly, she did what the teacher asked.
She sat still for all of the stretching and patiently waited her turn while the teacher worked with the other kids.  The picture is a bit blurry, but I was trying to be discreet so she wouldn't see me.
Afterwards, we went to McDonald's to celebrate how well she did in her big girl class.
I didn't have my camera, but I took some pictures with my phone.
There was a great play area.
All of the musical instruments made sounds!
There was a giant piano on the wall.
Harper preferred to propel her entire body at it to get it to play.
The xylophone made noises
and the slide was a piano too!
Hopefully she will continue to do well in her big girl class, so we can have more fun at McDonald's!
