Harper’s 9th Birthday

We had a lot of fun celebrating Harper’s 9th Birthday!
We opened birthday gifts from
Aunt Christy while she was in town.

On New Year’s Eve we ate dinner at Red Robin
then went to Main Event.

We played games

then went bowling.

Harper was pretty good!

For her birthday breakfast, she requested
cinnamon rolls, bacon, eggs, grapes, yogurt and a macaron!

We opened presents

then played all morning.

Harper chose Hong’s Buffet for lunch.

She needed 2 plates for all of her food!

This year Harper wanted a traditional Chinese cake.  It had fruit on top and was not as sweet as most US cakes.

On Sunday, we had her birthday party
at the skating rink in Liberty.

She had a good time skating

with many of her friends.

We ate pizza and cupcakes

and made accessories from glow sticks!

Harper got to put her handprint on the birthday wall!

She had me write her name so
“she wouldn’t waste her skating time.”

It was a great party!

Christmas 2019

Harper and I had a busy and fun Christmas season!
We saw Frozen II at the MX4D theater in Liberty.

We decorated the tree

and visited Santa.

We saw the Liberty Light Show with live musicians

and watched Elizabeth perform in Elf Jr.

We made a gingerbread house

and sugar cookies!

Harper sang with the children at our church and we
attended the Christmas Eve candlelight service
at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.

On Christmas, Harper was the last one to wake up!
We opened presents.
Harper chose cinnamon rolls, scrambled eggs,
ham and fruit for breakfast.

Harper won at the game of Life!

The weather was perfect for trying out her new electric scooter (while wearing her unicorn bathrobe🤪)

The next day Christy and Lexi came to stay.
We went out to eat

then saw Cats! The movie was horrible but we laughed a lot!

We had Christmas at my cousin Barb’s house and Harper met some new friends.

It was a wonderful Christmas season!

The Nutcracker Ballet

On Saturday, we attended the Sugar Plum Fairy Children’s Ball luncheon with my cousin, Barb, and lots of ladies from the Beckett side of the family.

Harper loved all of the food at our fancy lunch.  The kid’s appetizer had fruit, cheese and ham.  The main course for the  children included chicken cordon bleu, macaroni and cheese, and steamed green beans.  She also enjoyed rolls and most of my mashed potatoes.  She loved the fancy cake and mousse desserts too!

Harper got to meet the Sugar Plum Fairy.

After lunch, we headed to the Kauffman Center to see The Nutcracker ballet!

Barb has been attending this event for 20 years,
so we had excellent seats!  During intermission, we got to attend a party with special treats and drinks.

It was such a fun day!

Halloween 2019

We had a great Halloween this year!
We carved a Hello Kitty Pumpkin

and went to a Trunk or Treat event at church.

Harper got a coupon for an ice cream cone
 at the McDonald’s trunk

and she walked the plank for some Pirate Treasure.

She hung out with a mermaid

and pretended to be a mermaid too!

She had a party at school

and got ready to trick or treat.

We went to a few houses

then Harper joined some friends for more trick or treating!

She got a LOT of candy!

Happy Halloween!
